Hiranandani Group forays into Data Centre Parks

With son rising as inheritor of the group fortune, realtor Hiranandani Group is foraying into integrated data centre parks in Mumbai and Chennai.

India’s first integrated data centre park building, built with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, is scheduled to go live by December at the Hiranandani Fortune City township in Panvel on the outskirts of Mumbai. The next parks will be set up in Chennai and Mumbai, Hiranandani Group said.

Yotta, a 100 per cent group subsidiary, will offer hyper-density, hyper-scalable data centre and co-location solutions to enterprises along with an array of managed IT, multi cloud and security services.

Niranjan Hiranandani, Founder & Managing Director, Hiranandani Group, while unveiling this new business initiative said, “We envision a huge opportunity with data localisation and protection Act to be announced soon by the Government of India in order to regulate the data management business. This will give a big impetus to the data storage business to grow domestically at an exponential pace.”

Darshan Hiranandani, Group CEO, said, “India has the cheapest data consumption cost per gigabyte and is the largest consumer of data in the world. At Yotta, our vision is to offer the cheapest data storage infrastructure per GB in the world,” said.

About the family business, the senior Hiranandani said his son Darshan Hiranandani will be his successor. While introducing his son, Hiranandani said, “Darshan Hiranandani will be my able successor.
